Chapter 2
Nikolay:
I watched, with a raised eyebrow, as she walked inside the hall.
Her eyes avoided everyone’s as she looked down at her feet, and it wasn’t until she took a deep breath that she gathered the courage to look me in the eye.
It wasn’t until she reached me at the end of the aisle that she smiled. The smile didn’t reach her eyes, and returning the smile. I knew that mine didn’t either. But we had too many eyes watching us, and failing this would be bad for both parties.
I took her hand in mine as she stood in front of me.
Our vows were said, and people watched in awe at the ‘in love‘ couple. If anything, the last thing I wanted to do was marry her, but here I was, standing in front of her as we ‘eloped. Her eyes avoided mine as she said her ‘I do, and saying mine, I leaned in and connected my lips with hers in a small peck.
She kissed me back, freezing for a second, believing that I would deepen it; but the last thing I wanted to do was kiss her, let alone touch her. However, a show was a show, and the two of us have agreed on this, there was no point of me backing out half way
now.
“Well, it seems like the couple are deeply in love that they did not bother waiting for them to be pronounced husband and wife.” Mary–An, her mother said, looking at the two of us. Katerina’s eyes avoided mine as she silently shook her head. The shake was one of embarrassment, but I could tell that she was trying her best to hide it.
“Indeed we are.” I said, smiling for the press who gathered around to take pictures. The two of us were going to be the head of spotlight tomorrow, that was something that we both knew. Katerina’s smile was more ‘honest‘ this time, and when her eyes met mine, I was surprised that she could fake being with.
“Do you have anything to say regarding your marriage, Mrs. Ivanov?” One of the reporters asked. Katerina looked at me, and bit her bottom lip, smiling as she put her hand on my chest. The two of us were yet to even have our first dance, and yet, I was surprised by the number of reporters who were taking pictures of us. But then again, this is what it was to be married to a billionaire, right? Two billionaire families getting together in a marriage was a big hit considering the investments that were going to rise to the sky. The shareholders and investors were going to be happy about the result, and the more ‘real‘ it looked, the better the outcome.
“I am thrilled and I have no words to describe how happy I am being married to the love of my life.” She said, smiling at me. I smiled back and leaned in, kissing her forehead, letting my lips linger there for a few seconds as I cupped her cheek with my right hand. I pulled her closer by placing my hand on her waist, and putting he hands on my waistband, she kept her head down.
I pulled away to find her closing her eyes as a smile formed on her lips, the perfect picture.
“Is there anything that you would like to share with us, Mr. Ivanov? How the two of you are going to be spending this time of the season? Would you two be going on a honeymoon?” A reporter asked

“I will not be sharing such plans as they are a surprise for my beloved, but we will be up to share a few pictures here and there. You know, something to keep you all posted I said, sunding at them: 1 nodded at the security to get them out of here, and nodding, they started clearing our the place as for us to get this night over with.
We still had to have our first dance, the reception, and then head off to the airport. But if we kept answering to all the questions these reporters had, I knew that we would barely get out of this hall by midnight
I pulled Katerina by her waist as she wrapped her arms around my neck, the two of us swaying to the music. I pulled her closer, and she looked up at me with the best smile that she could muster
1 twirled her around before pulling her to my chest, her back facing me as she swayed, resting my chin on her shoulder you surprised me today
“Need Lask for the reason?” She asked, trying to sound as cheerful as she could as people gathered around us to dance as couples. I turned her around to face me, and pulled her back toward me. looking her in the eve
“I didn’t think that you could act this well. I have to admit, I was impressed, if anything, you did a good job.” I said, and she laughed, shaking her head at me.
Her green eyes were focused on my silver–blue ones for a few seconds, smiling as I twirled her around as a few camera men somehow managed to enter the hall to take the two of us a picture She didn’t say a word, and neither did I as we both danced. But we could see the security team trying to get them out without causing too much of a fuss or interrupting us.
“You and I should both be clear about the fact that we are BOTH benefitting from this marriage. Therefore. I do believe that me putting on a smile can come in the benefit of BOTH parties.” She said as the first song ended. Her eyes were fixed on mine as our parents approached, her father was to dance with her while mother was to dance with me. “Now, how about we get this dance done with? We still have a reception to attend, no?”
