I walked out of the twins‘ room, thankful that they were back home.
I needed to rest, especially when I knew that I barely got any sleep in two days.
“Ma’am, is there anything that you want to eat or drink? You’ve been awake for two days on barely coffee or tea.” Miya said, and I shook my head.
“I just need to rest, we can think of food later. Tomorrow we’re going to the kids‘ daycare. They are going to stay at home until I am sure that they’re fit to go anywhere.” I said, and she nodded. Nikolay, whose eyes met mine from a distance, looked away and turned to his office. I didn’t expect anything more from him
anyway.
The man knew that he was crossing limits, but he knew that he could. I didn’t have anyone who could stop him and judging by the circumstances, he saw that I wasn’t responding. But I was going to be sure that he regretted it. First, I was going to need to know what I was going to do.
I entered the room and sat on the edge of the bed, I didn’t even know where my phone was at this point, but it was the least of my concerns. No one important was going to call me anyway, and the last thing that I was going to need was to deal with another picture like the one that Ashley showed me the other day.
“What are you doing?” Nikolay asked, entering the room when he saw me sitting down.
“I doubt that you should give a damn.” I said, raising an eyebrow. “If there’s something that you have to tell. me, then go ahead. But if you’re just going to ask questions or if you’re going to be rude, you have a mistress that would be more than happy to see you right now.”
“I am filing for a divorce.” He said, taking me off guard. I shook my head in question as I tried to process what he was telling me. “The two of us can no longer live together, it seems, and I think that the kids would be living in a healthier environment if they didn’t see you in this state…”

what?” I asked, stopping the man. He stayed quiet for a few seconds and I shook my head in question before he pulled my phone out of his pocket.
“You’ve been stalking me. You have people following me to ensure that you know where I am, and you have reached to the point of threatening my woman.” He said, making my eyes widen at, his disrespect. “I think that getting a divorce is the right thing to do…”
“And I end up losing everything while you get the peaceful life that you have with the mistress that you call ‘your woman‘?” I asked, shaking my head in question.
“She makes me happy. It is something that you seem to have failed doing…”

“You’re going to take the children?” I asked, stopping him.
“Surely, you don’t expect that I would allow them to stay anywhere away…”
“You barely know their names and their birthdays. Hell, you don’t even know who their teachers are and who their tutors are in their daycare.” I said, stopping him. “The kids were sick and rather than coming to stay with them, you were…”
“I didn’t see my phone and had you not annoyed me, I would have.” He said, and I frowned.
“So, now it is my fault?” I asked, and he scoffed.
“Everything that we are going through is your fault and you know it, Katerina.” He said, and I pinched the bridge of my nose. “You refused to forgive me when I asked, you chose to distance yourself…”
“From a man who cheated on me not once, but time and time before, almost had me losing my children. You didn’t even care that the kids could have died in that incubator. I stayed for months without being able to feed them because I couldn’t approach them. Do you know how fucking painful that was?” I asked, stopping him. His eyes widened in surprise at my statement, and I shook my head.
“I am going to file for that divorce.”
“Then I am going to be sure that you lose everything that you think you own,” I said, and he raised an amused eyebrow.
“Is that so?” He asked, and I crossed my arms over my chest.
“What do you think the judge would say when he finds out that you not only had ONE, but five different mistresses throughout our marriage? Do I need to start with Anastasia, or should I time skip toward Ashley, who is still taunting me with pictures of the two of you together?” I asked, shaking my head in question. “I am not a person for you to mess with. I was in a weak position, I will admit, but I am no longer that person who would allow you to…”
“Yes, but you are a woman who has no one to back her. Even the lawyer that you have is one that I AM paying. You know for fact that you are nothing without me. But I can be kind enough to give you a monthly allowance and you are still going to be able to see the kids.” He said, and I shook my head. He was right, I did lose everything. My parents don’t even allow me my shares when it comes to the company, but what he forgot was the fact that I worked and had my own investments and businesses.
“You can drown in your own money for all I care.” I said, and his eyes hardened. “I’ll be filing for that divorce within the week. And trust me when I say that I am not going to stop until I have made sure that YOU lost everything that you THINK that you have.”
He went to raise his hand, and I raised an eyebrow before he lowered it.
“Get out of my sight.” He said, and I shook my head.
