Jerome couldn’t figure out why Mikayla was so cold to him. He could tell.she had feelings for him. But she refused to let go of her grudges.
“Jay, does Mikayla still want to divorce you?”
Connor, who didn’t get an answer, asked cautiously.
Before knocking on the door, he overheard Mikayla say she didn’t want to delay the divorce. He was surprised. She risked her safety for Jerome but was unwilling to
accept his offer of reconciliation.
Jerome became even more gloomy when he heard the question. “It’s not like I can’t survive without her. I won’t force her to stay if she insists on getting divorced.”
“Really?”
Connor didn’t quite believe it. “Jay, don’t make the wrong decision. Mikayla is beautiful and has a great personality. She also plays the drums very well. It’s understandable that you’re reluctant to let her go. By the way, I suggested you take her out for a trip. Have you made a plan?”
Jerome becomes even more frustrated. “My company has a company trip to Aqua Lagoon the day after tomorrow. She said she wanted to accompany her best friend and rejected me.”
It sounded like an excuse.
“Then you should find a way to invite her friend along. You should spend more time with your wife to enhance your relationship.”
Jerome glanced at Connor coldly. “Did you think I wouldn’t deal with you after saying these? You were in the bar! How could you not help Mikayla in time while she was in trouble?”
That was indeed his fault.
He wanted to tease Jerome by not telling him the address, and he was unaware that
someone harassed Mikayla.
So, he admitted his mistake. “I just wanted to make a joke with you. I didn’t expect

that you were so clever that you found the bar by yourself and beat the gangsters away to save Mikayla! But how did you know where we were?”
Jerome glanced at him with contempt. “You tagged the location in your Instagram.”
Connor patted his head. He did post on Instagram shortly after entering the bar, but he forgot about it.
“You’re still awesome to notice every detail!”
He flattered, “Mikayla will see your strengths again once she gets along with you more!”
“So, do you mean I don’t even have a merit in her heart now?”
“No, I didn’t mean that,” Connor said hurriedly, “That’s no way Mikayla doesn’t know that you’re excellent. But she’s struggling with her emotional issues. Once you help her resolve them, she won’t be angry with you anymore! You should hurry up to check on your waist. Mikayla is still waiting for you.”
Mikayla turned on her phone. It was already dawn. About five hours had passed since she fainted.
Celeste texted her to mention that the men who had bullied them in the bar were all sent to the police station by Jerome’s men.
She also assured Mikayla that although her shoulder was bruised, there was no damage to the muscles or bones. It would be fine after Mikayla applied the ointment to the bruise.
In addition, she mentioned that she would come to the hospital in the morning and told Mikayla not to wander around.
She replied to Celeste and continued to lie on the hospital bed. Fortunately, her shoulder wasn’t seriously injured, or she would have regretted saving Jerome.
