She became nervous when she saw this number. “William, did something happen to Grandpa?”
“Mr. Davidson Senior is fine,” William reassured her. “He’s going to see an old friend today. He might be
away for a few days. I’m just informing you so you wouldn’t worry.”
“Where is Grandpa going? Who is he meeting? Why didn’t he tell me in advance?” Mikayla asked.
“He only decided to go yesterday. He said it was an old friend from Lakeville whom he hadn’t seen for a long time. That friend is sick now, so he wants to go there and visit him. He’s afraid that he might never
have a chance to see his friend again if he doesn’t go this time.”
