“Fanny? What are you thinking about?” Zacharias gently patted her hand, soothing her sudden nervousness;
Fanny snapped back to reality, seeing how tightly she had been holding Zacharias‘ hand. She quickly apologized, I’m sorry, Zac. I was just thinking about school, and I got distracted.”
Zacharias didn’t doubt her and asked, “Is everything okay at school?”
Fanny bit her lip and said. “I’ve never heard of the school Mr. Leigh arranged for me before, but I’m okay with it.”
Although she said so, her expression was intriguing, and Zacharias could tell her emotions at a glance. He whispered soothingly, “Fanny, don’t be sad. Someone as outstanding as you will shine wherever you go.”

After chatting with Zacharias for a few moments, Fanny was about to leave,

He clearly looked down on Angela, especially when Yaxley was not around. His arrogance was undisguised.

She could see that dealing with Tyler could be challenging, and she genuinely preferred not to engage with him.
Tyler’s expression darkened instantly as he was clearly taken aback by Angela’s response.
He slammed his hand on the table and glared at Angela. “You’re asking me who I am? Didn’t you listen to my introduction earlier?”
Confused, Angela tilted her head and questioned, “Is your introduction relevant to the discussion? Or does your name have anything to do with the training?”
Her response was quite clever, cliciting laughter from several classmates who had been drawn to Tyler’s table.
Tyler stared them down, but those who were laughing were no longer there.
They were all students at Northland Medical University, including Tyler. Moreover, Tyler had previously hosted a welcome banquet, so it was important to maintain a level of respect for the university.
“Angela, his name is Tyler,” someone kindly reminded her.
“Thank you.” Angela smiled warmly at the person and then turned to Tyler, asking, “Can I help you, Tyler? If it’s about the party, you mentioned that it wasn’t compulsory, right?”
“Why did
you take the invitation then?” Tyler’s demeanor softened a bit, though he still appeared somewhat upset.
Tyler felt disrespected by Yaxley’s absence from his event, not Angela’s participation in it. And, since Yaxley had not arrived, he decided to lash out at Angela to make himself feel better.
But who knew? For someone who appeared frail, her unexpected resistance surprised him.
“You all forced it on me. I had no choice.” Angela innocently shrugged, then noticed Yaxley entering the classroom and heading towards her.

Before Tyler could say anything, Yaxley’s voice interrupted, “Don’t block the way.”
Tyler was indeed obstructing the seat next to Angela.
“Oh, you’re here. Yaxley, why didn’t you attend the welcome party? Are you scared?” Tyler arrogantly questioned upon seeing Yaxley.
Yaxley glanced at him nonchalantly and replied, “Boring.”
Tyler’s expression darkened. Before he could retort, the bell rang, and Lara entered the classroom, relaying the mentor’s instructions for the afternoon.
“The mentor wants us to research our own topics and present them later.” Lara smiled, then led Tyler away.
Tyler glared at Yaxley and Angela, clearly still displeased, but they paid him no mind.
“Why are you so late, Yaxley?” Angela handed the research topic to Yaxley and received his copy, casually inquiring about it.
Yaxley glanced at her before responding, “Didn’t sleep well, so I woke
up late.”
Accustomed to his brief answers, Angela nodded and began reviewing the analysis done by Yaxley.
As she neared the end of the document, she was startled by Yaxley’s question. “Do you know someone named Fanny?”
Surprised, Angela looked at Yaxley, realizing he was serious and struggling to contain her laughter.
Professor Terence had previously mentioned that Yaxley was oblivious to many things, and she had thought it was an exaggeration. However, it seemed to be true–Yaxley was truly ignorant of many things.
