But she dared not speak carelessly about Florence.
“I do,” Fanny hurriedly said, “James, I met Miss Shelton by chance before. She has been trying to find a way to meet Jonathan.”
Although she was cautious, she avoided mentioning Florence’s attempts to use Christopher as leverage to meet Jonathan.
