Meanwhile, in the CEO’s office.
Just as Marc returned to Machodean, he stared at the messages from Lucas on his phone screen, feeling puzzled.
He wondered about Pearl’s connection with the renowned state banquet chef and the descendants of the Cooper family.
He knew Pearl could cook.
When Marc was still bedridden, Pearl had cooked for him. However, during those times, he was in low spirits. No matter how exquisite the dishes in front of him were, he could not eat any of them. He even knocked over the meal she had handed to him.
Later, after he recovered and was discharged from the hospital, Pearl had cooked for him, a few times at home.
Either Marc returned late and had already eaten outside, or he only glanced at the dishes prepared by Pearl and didn’t eat them.
Now, thinking about it, she had been genuinely good to him, but he hadn’t cherished that
sincerity.
Marc took out Pearl’s rose–shaped stamp, rubbing his fingers over the inscription at the bottom, which read Marc Males.” His heart was filled with a sense of regret.
Were all people only learning to cherish something after they had lost it?
“Oh my, I’m stuffed!”
Lucas patted his round belly as he walked out of the Food Delight Diner, savoring the lingering flavors. It was so delicious!
He looked at Pearl and said, “I have to ask, did Mr. Cooper really learn culinary skills from you?”
Pearl replied calmly with a simple “Yes.”

Lucas playfully approached her, mimicking the tone of a charming guy talking to his date. from a TV show. “How many surprises do you still have that I don’t know about?”
Pearl couldn’t help but smile and scolded, “Get lost!”
Lucas laughed along with her.
Under the afternoon sun, his smile was bright, and his attractive eyes sparkled. He sincerely said, “You’re a treasure. I’m falling for you more and more. What should do?”
She responded, “Whatever, I don’t care. But don’t fall in love with me too easily.”
Putting on her sunglasses, Pearl got into her car and said seriously, “Regarding the racetrack matter, go back and discuss it with your father. I’ll walt for your message.”
“Alright.” Lucas gestured an “OK” sign toward Pearl and asked, “When can I taste the food you cook?”
Pearl gave him a distant look and replied, “Just wait. It depends on my mood.”
Lucas also put on his sunglasses, leaned against his sports car, and grinned at her, flashing a set of white teeth. “Then I better work hard to keep you in a good mood every day!”
Pearl got into her car without paying much attention to what Lucas had said. He had casually uttered those words, and she did not take it seriously.
However, as soon as Pearl arrived at the company, she received 9,999 roses. It was an enormous bouquet that required three people to carry. It was comparable to a small flower bed. It was ostentatious beyond measure.
“Miss Woolery, these flowers are from Mr. Parker. He wishes you happiness and laughter every day!”
The delivery person pulled out a notebook. “Could you please sign for them?”
Pearl’s eyelids twitched, thinking of Lucas’s big smile, and she helplessly pinched her brow.
So, this was what he meant by “work hard“…

Her WhatsApp chimed twice, and Pearl opened it to find a message from Lucas. [Sending red roses may be a bit cliché, but only they can express my burning affection for you. Love you! Muacks!]
He actually sent her red roses and a cheesy message.
Did he think she was a teenage girl?
With a smile and a sigh, Pearl signed her name and accepted the flowers. The CEO’s office immediately erupted into a thunderous cheer. “Wow!”
“What’s with the ‘wow‘?”
Pearl cast a sharp glance, and everyone quickly covered their mouths. The office area fell silent. Then, she said clearly, “Get back to work.”
“Yes, ma’am!”
In the afternoon, they held a meeting to discuss the spokesperson for the upcoming jewelry event.
Eren Watson, the talent director of Woolery Starry Media, presented a PowerPoint with a list of potential celebrities. As Pearl listened, she looked at the photos of the artists one by one. They were all exceptionally good–looking, with impressive appearances.
They were much better looking than those chatty internet celebrities from the gala.
Before the meeting could conclude, Hubert called.
“I’m in a meeting. We’ll talk later.”
Just as Pearl was about to hang up, Hubert hurriedly said, “It’s not a big deal. I just wanted to let you know, don’t get angry. I’ll handle those shameless little troublemakers. You don’t need to worry about it!”
He finished speaking indignantly and hung up.
Pearl was puzzled. What was all this nonsense about?

After the fashion charity gala hosted by “Zero Hour,” the trending topics on social media this morning were filled with fan support for their favorite celebrities. The auction items and the total charity amount were transparently displayed. Among the top trending topics was Pearl’s emerald necklace from Brunew, which had raised more than 4 million dollars in charitable donations, credited to “Mason.”
Originally, it was just a celebrity circle celebration, and everyone was enjoying themselves. The buzz was expected to subside in the afternoon. However, a new wave of controversies
emerged.
In the afternoon, Pearl suddenly found herself on the trending topic list again due to
several minor internet celebrities.
“Aren’t these the unknown minor artists who were talking behind my back, and I poured
wine on them and kicked them out last night?”
Pearl looked at their unfamiliar names and only vaguely recalled the impression they had
left on her.
“It’s them.”
Mason said with a stern expression, “They probably couldn’t stand it and united to target. you. This is my oversight. I’ll handle it now and remove the trending topics!”
While they were talking, Pearl had already quickly read through the posts where these. internet celebrities were condemning her.
However, these posts were poorly written. It was obvious the writers lacked cultural depth.
Back then, Clarissa could at least write a few poems and tell a love story passionately. In contrast, the posts written by internet celebrities were filled with grammatical errors,
misspelled words, and excessive exclamation points. It seemed their literature was taught by a physical education teacher.

Pearl spoke calmly and stopped Mason.
Eren listened to their conversation with confusion and asked, “Who are these minor
artists?”
Mason scolded him with a glare, “You’re in the entertainment industry. At least keep up with the internet! Check your phone and see if you recognize these minor internet celebrities
Eren quickly unlocked his phone and read through the posts condemning Pearl. He was so angry that his fingers trembled with anger. Then, he slammed his hand on the table and said furiously, “Are they insane? How dare they say such things about you!”
These minor actors and internet celebrities were taking turns accusing Pearl online. They claimed that she, as the heiress of the Woolery Group, had publicly insulted them. Not only did she pour wine on them, but she also kicked them out.
Other than the photo of themselves being splashed with wine, they even attached a video clip that showed Pearl pouring wine on them.
The video had been edited to capture a brief moment, making it seem as if Pearl was extremely arrogant and had an intimidating aura.
Pearl watched her graceful movements in the video. Wasn’t she being quite elegant?
