“This is the survival of the fittest. Since Ann is more capable than the other members of the Moore family, I chose her,” Thomas explained.
“But she’s a girl.”
“So what if she’s a girl? She’s a part of the Moore family. Of course, she can’t marry into another family, and can only have a matrilocal husband. Moreover, her child must take on the Moore surname!” Thomas
replied.
After hearing that, Wyatt nodded. That seemed plausible. Although it was unusual for a woman to become the head of a family, it wasn’t unheard of.
“So, I wanted to discuss with you about marrying into the Moore family,” Thomas declared seriously.
Wyatt laughed. He thought, “The old fogey likes to crack jokes.‘
“Why are you laughing?
“My granddaughter is extremely beautiful. Don’t you like her?” Thomas asked angrily.
He continued, “Hayley pales in comparison to Ann, be it in looks or capabilities!”
“My granddaughter is simply gorgeous!” Thomas banged the table loudly.
“What’s that got to do with me?” Wyatt replied calmly. This angered the other party greatly.
Thomas smiled bitterly. He knew that Wyatt was the Great Master. Therefore, it was practically impossible for the Moore family to make him a matrilocal son–in–law.
“Ann doesn’t have strong support and is a woman. She needs the help of a strong person to manage the
Moore family.”
Thomas finally revealed his true feelings.
“If you devote yourself to the Moore family, I promise that we won’t restrict you in any way. However, you
must help Ann to clear all obstacles whenever she needs you.”
The unruly and arrogant Wyatt in the past would have rejected Thomas‘ request if he heard that.
Yet, after his failure three years ago, Wyatt became more clear–headed and calm.
No matter how capable he was, he couldn’t continue fighting his battles by himself.
Moreover, he needed to remove the evil curse fog urgently but he couldn’t do that alone.
So, Wyatt didn’t reject Thomas immediately and waited for the other man to continue talking.
He couldn’t just devote himself to the Moore family just because of Thomas‘ words, right?

Then, Thomas took out a box made out of emeralds. When he opened it, Wyatt saw a glistening herb
inside.

Its leaf was a few inches long and was shaped like a heart. The herb was white, and chill air came out
from it.
“It’s the Frostheart herb!”
Wyatt’s eyes lit up.
The Frostheart herb was a rare item that could be made into a Frostheart pill. The Frostheart pill could remove the evil curse fog.

Previously, Wyatt had asked Thomas for help to find the Frostheart herb. He didn’t expect the other party
to find it.
After that, Wyatt muttered, “This is very useful to me. However, it’s just one small leaf…”
One leaf from the Frostheart herb wasn’t very useful. Wyatt couldn’t even make a Frostheart pill from it.
“One leaf?”
Thomas chuckled slyly. “Wyatt, don’t underestimate me. If I only had one leaf, why would I come all the way here to meet you?”
Then, he abruptly closed the box while looking at Wyatt. The man said solemnly, “I found 50 leaves of the Frostheart herb! Moreover, all of them are still alive!”
