However, I immediately dismissed the thought of Gordon doing anything on my behalf as wishful thinking.
Perhaps it had been time for him to end things with Nora because Sabrina had entered the picture.
“Ms. Flores, I’ll be honest with you. Even if it weren’t for the rumors between you and Gordon, I wouldn’t have considered you, either. But because of your sincerity today, I’ll consider contacting you if there is a suitable role as a minor character. What do you think?”
I refused to give Nora any chances at all.
However, when I thought of what was going to happen between Gordon and Sabrina very soon, I suddenly felt that it was better to have another ally instead of another enemy.
I figured that it would be better to have someone like her to cooperate with me in my long and hard quest of breaking Gordon and Sabrina apart.
Nora looked very disappointed. She stood up and sighed.
“Alright. I genuinely like how the female lead character is written. This is my favorite story among all the novels I’ve read. Ms. Morgan, please contact me at any time if you change your mind.”
“Alright.”
I nodded, and the conversation with Nora ended.
After Nora left, I flipped open the stack of profiles that Ray had given me. Suddenly, I discovered the existence of a particular woman in that pile.
The woman’s name was Bryony Huxon. She was 22 years old, and her profile showed that she had graduated from a technical school.
After graduating, she picked up whatever work she could as an extra at Hampton Studios and other similar places. She had had a few minor roles, and she was exceptionally good–looking. She had a round, tiny face, and her eyes curved into half–moons whenever she smiled. She looked pure and untouched, but there was a hint of firm resolve in her eyes as if she had been through many challenges in life.

Now, she was still an unknown actress, so even her profile had been at the bottom of the pile. However, I became immediately excited, and I summoned Ray at once.
“Yes, Taylor?” Ray asked when he entered.
I extracted Bryony’s profile and handed it to him.
“Call this woman. Tell her to come in and audition tomorrow.”
Ray took the profile and looked startled.

“Her? Taylor, are you sure? She’s just an unknown actress. All she has going for her are her looks, and she has a round face. That isn’t suitable for a female lead, is it?”
I shook my head.
“I have my own plans. Tell her to come and audition.”
“Okay, no problem. I’ll arrange it at once.”
Ray did not say anything further.
After he left, I busied myself for a while and suddenly got a call from my mother.
“Sweetie, come home earlier today. It’s Thanksgiving.”
“Huh? It’s already Thanksgiving? Time flies…”
If Mom hadn’t said so, I wouldn’t have realized that it was already Thanksgiving. When I looked at the
calendar, I realized that Mom was right.
“Alright, Mom. I’ll be home soon,” I answered quickly.
After I hung up, I picked up my bag, left the office and drove to the mall at once.
In my past life, I hadn’t been a very considerate daughter. I rarely went home to keep my parents company
on important days, and I had never thought of buying them gifts.
Since I was given a chance to relive this life, I swore to myself that I was going to be a thoughtful daughter and give my parents everything that other people gave theirs.
I went to the jewelry store in the mall and chose some emeralds for Mom, which she liked. I also saw a sparkling emerald bracelet.
As it was Thanksgiving, I bought one for Mom and one for Hazel as well.
I told the shop assistant to wrap them up for me, then went to a luxury cigar shop to buy a box of premium cigars each for Dad and Hank.
Then I called the driver, Luke, and told him to deliver the cigars and emerald bracelet over to my in–laws.
