Eugene looked down at her, his dark eyes showing little emotion.
After a while, his Adam’s apple moved slightly and he said, “There’s no rush.”

Wednesday’s meeting.”
Melanie did not attend last Wednesday’s meeting, so she said, “I am not responsible for that.”
Viola said, “But it’s the secretary’s office’s job, so you should manage it.‘
