moment. Mr. Scott and I are just finishing up the final details.”

Zara replied, “That’s alright. No need to waste time. I have two more cases to organize later.”
Melanie blinked and glanced briefly at Eugene before entering. Doubts had begun to form in her mind, but she did not think it was appropriate to voice them now. She just quietly observed him.

She looked at Zara directly and said, “Miss Henson, last night, Luther Laing approached me and hoped that I would accept a settlement agreement. I refused.”
Zara was not surprised to hear that. “He always uses such tactics,” she said simply.
Melanie paused, shifting her gaze toward Eugene before continuing, “But Viola told me the person supporting her is someone even Eugene doesn’t dare to touch.”
