Chapter 809
In the tense atmosphere, the doctor finally spoke. “Ms. Lawson, your progestational hormone levels have risen again. Have you been feeling emotionally unstable lately? Getting angry or sad often?”
Sheena lowered her head, not answering.
However, patients should not hide anything from their doctors.
Elliot squeezed Sheena’s hand, helping her respond.
“Yes, there have been some unpleasant incidents at home recently, and her emotions have been quite unstable. She seems to have trouble controlling her emotions lately. It was especially evident last night when she bit me because I didn’t let her eat clementines.”
The last few words were spoken with a hint of resentment in his tone.
The doctor chuckled. “She got angry because she couldn’t eat clementines?”
Sheena quickly explained, “My appetite has been poor lately, sometimes even vomiting from acid reflux. After suffering so much, I finally encountered a fruit that I liked. Yet, he was so controlling! He didn’t even allow me to eat even one more! It’s really frustrating!”
As she spoke, her frown deepened, and she forcibly let go of Elliot’s hand, sulking again.
Elliot remained silent.
The doctor laughed heartily, expressing genuine admiration, “You two have such a good relationship. Your little squabbles are really adorable!”
Sheena’s face remained serious as she continued to explain, “Although I was very angry last night, don’t think I was so angry that I would bite him. It seems like I really can’t control my emotions.”
The doctor carefully reviewed all the test results again.

“This is your first pregnancy, and twins are naturally more taxing. You’ve been facing increased mental stress recently, and seeing Mr. Jenkins completely relaxed when you were frustrated could lead to difficulty controlling emotions, using him as a punching bag. Mr. Jenkins, you should take better care of Ms. Lawson’s mood and keep her spirits up. Basically, everything about her health is normal, no major issues.”
With that statement, both of them breathed a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, it was just a false alarm.
Leaving the hospital, Elliot carefully carried Sheena into the car, earnestly contemplating solutions.
“Nana, you’ve been suffering so much with the pregnancy, and I haven’t been able to help you. I’ve let you endure everything alone before. It’s my fault for not being thorough enough. From now on, when you’re in pain, let me share it with you!”

Sheena raised an eyebrow with amusement. “How can we share the pain?”
“Like when you’re nauseous from morning sickness, you can pinch me! When you’re upset and need to let off steam, you can pinch me too! That way, I won’t be completely unaffected.”
“Will that really help?” Sheena frowned, looking at him skeptically.
Elliot grabbed her hand and guided it down, through the layers of his clothing, to his warm skin.
“Try it and see for yourself.”
Her eyes gleamed mischievously as she traced circles with her fingertips on his side. Then, she pinched the soft flesh with a satisfying grip, giving it a twist.
Elliot furrowed his brow, lips pressed tightly together, enduring the pain for a while before eagerly asking, “Does it feel a little better for you to see me in pain like this?”
Sheena earnestly considered for a moment.
“Mm! Much better!”
However, within seconds, her expression soured again, prompting her to rub his side.
“But seeing you in pain makes me feel bad for you.”
Knowing that she was concerned for him, Elliot felt content.
“I’m fine. Don’t worry about me. I am thick–skinned!”
Although he said that, Sheena could not bring herself to tease him again.
“I’ll make sure to control my emotions better. Besides, things are getting better day by day, and there’s nothing that’s upsetting me.”
Elliot gazed into her sparkling eyes. Even though she appeared happy, he knew that still had not let go of Corey’s incident.
Nonetheless, he did not say anything.
Soon, the two of them returned to E&S Haven.
