“Your eyesight is amazing! How did you manage to spot him even though he just showed a bit of his face?
Celeste said, “He’s quite good looking. Did you notice the way he looked at you? His eyes were shining.”
“Shining? Don’t be ridiculous”
Mikayla enlarged the photo again.
Michael was sitting next to her.
Even though only half of his face was captured, his handsome features and the gaze he directed at her were evident.
His smile was bright, and his eyes were gentle.
“There was a table of steaks and beers in the second photo. Did you have dinner with him?” Celeste
asked.
“Not him, but them. There were five or six of them,” Mikayla corrected, “And that guy you’ve seen before. I bought a suit for him when we went shopping at the mall last time. He’s Michael.”
“Oh, it’s him? You and him seem to be fated.” Celeste asked, “Is he the one Jerome was talking about?”
“Yes.”
“Did he agree to the divorce only after you two had a fight?”
“What are you trying to imply here?” Mikayla retorted.
“I’m wondering if there is a possibility,” Celesté made a bold guess, ‘that Jerome saw the photos you posted on Instagram and went to the steakhouse because he was worried?”
“He saw you standing next to Micheal and got upset, that’s why he criticized him. After taking you home, thinking you’d explain. But instead, you explained nothing and brought up the divorce, so he agreed in
anger.
Hearing Celeste’s analysis, Mikayla sneered.
“Firstly, Jerome won’t check his Instagram. I’ve posted so much before, and sometimes I even mentioned him directly, but he never responded. Once he got annoyed and told me that he didn’t have the time for
this.
“Secondly, Jerome went to the steakhouse because he had an appointment. When he got out of the car, he even had his assistant with him. Besides, Jerome’s always acting weird. He’s just a possessive man.
“As for what you said about him agreeing to the divorce in anger, that isn’t true at all. If Jerome were that
emotional, could he manage Miller Group so efficiently?
“To sum it up, your analysis makes no sense,” Mikayla concluded.
But Celeste Insisted she was right.
“Jerome is human too, not a robot. Why can’t he have emotions? You think his reaction to Michael is because of his possessiveness, but in my opinion, it’s a form of jealousy.
Jealousy?
Mikayls round it somewhat ridiculous.
Would Jerome ever feel jealous?
“If you don’t believe what I’m saying, how about we make a bet? If you two are not divorced by tomorrow, it’s because Jerome had changed his mind,” Celeste remarked.
Mikayla chuckled.
“There’s nothing to be afraid of. Since he agreed to divorce, he’ll keep his promise. He’s not the kind of person who goes back on his word.”
Having said that, Mikayla didn’t want to continue this topic with Celeste anymore.
She changed the subject and asked, “When do you and Dr. Chance plan to return?”
“Soon, probably tomorrow or the day after. Let’s meet and catch up then.”
“Sure!” Mikayla then asked Celeste about the female classmate of Nolan.
Since Celeste started sending food to him regularly, the lady had kept a distance from him and refrained from acting excessively.
Celeste also picked some presents for her parents–in–law recently.
The two chatted about Ansoft for a while before ending the call.
Mikayla tossed her phone aside and lay on the bed.
Celeste’s words had left her somewhat uneasy.
Would Jerome really regret their divorce?
The next morning, Mikayla woke up past 9:00 am.
She had been anxious about the divorce all night long that she wasn’t able to sleep at all.
She got ready and went downstairs.
Amy already had the breakfast prepared.
