“Yes, Sir got up early and left for the company,” Amy answered.
Mikayla quickly called Jerome.
She thought he might not answer, but after a few rings, his cold voice came through.
“What’s the matter?” Jerome asked.
Mikayla walked to a quiet place away from Amy and asked in a hushed voice, “Have you signed the divorce agreement? Can we go for certification this morning?”
Jerome replied indifferently, “I’m busy.”
“If you don’t have time for certification, at least get the divorce agreement signed, okay?” Mikayla pressed anxiously. “Where are you now? I’ll come over to you.”
“I’m in my office,” Jerome replied.
After that, he hung up the phone.
Mikayla walked to the dining table.
Amy was no longer there, so she probably didn’t overheard their conversation.
Although Amy wasn’t the one who leaked the news of her getting a divorce to Wanda last time, it was
better to keep it a secret from everyone.
After having breakfast, Mikayla drove to Miller Group.
She arrived at Jerome’s office.
When she was about to knock on the door, she recognized two familiar faces inside–her uncle, Stephen, and her aunt, Matilda.
Mikayla’s forehead throbbed.
Could it be that Jerome called them over to stop her from getting a divorce?
Or did the two of them come to verify the news about their soured marriage?
When they heard her knocking, Stephen and Matilda both turned to look at her. “Kay, are you here to see
Jerome?”
From their expressions and tone, it seemed that Jerome didn’t tell them about the divorce.
Mikayla felt a little relieved.
“I have something to do with him,” Mikayla replied. “Why are the two of you here?”
“We are here to thank Jerome!” Matilda exclaimed.
*Last time, he introduced us to the president of Fanell Group, so we brought a gift to him as a token of
appreciation. We’re also waiting for him to have lunch together with the president,”
Hearing Matilda’s words, Mikayla did notice several exquisitely packaged and expensive gift boxes on the
coffee table.
By Matilda’s explanation, the collaboration was not completely established yet, and they wanted Jerome. to personally handle it.
Mikayla felt exasperated.
“Aunt Matilda, didn’t you promise Grandpa that you wouldn’t trouble Jerome with company affairs. anymore?”
Matilda reprimanded her on the spot, “Kay, how can you say that? It’s not a problem for Jerome. He and the prescient of Fanell Group are acquaintances. Isn’t it normal for friends to have a meal together?”
“He’s busy!” Mikalya shouted, “He is occupied now. Why don’t you look for him another time?”
“Jerome hasn’t said anything yet. How do you know he’s busy?” Matilda was annoyed.

Stephen was even more stubborn than Matilda.
If he said he would wait, he would definitely wait.

first.
