Soon, the ropes around her limbs were loosen. Her body fell into a warm embrace. 

“Are you okay?” 

She lifted her head in confusion upon hearing the familiar voice. 

She saw Jerome’s face. His brow was deeply frowned, and his eyes were filled with concern. 

“Jerome?” Mikayla asked in uncertainty. 

Jerome looked at her. 

Her eyes were blank, and her hair was disheveled. There were two finger marks on her flushed cheeks. 

Her lips were rosy, her body was warm, and her voice was extremely soft. 

Her appearance clearly indicated that she had suffered a lot and ingested something she shouldn’t have. 

A bloodthirsty urge surged within Jerome. He wished he could execute Johnny for laying hands on Mikayla 

“Mr. Miller, Johnny escaped!” Mike reported. 

Jerome coldly ordered, “Chase after him. We must catch him no matter what!” 

Mikayla seemed to be frightened. She lowered her head and hid in his arms. 

“Mr. Miller, I’ll take care of the rest here. You should take Mrs. Miller to the hospital first,” Mike said. 

Jerome didn’t hesitate. He carried Mikayla into the car. 

They quickly arrived at the nearest hospital. 

Other than the slap marks on her face and the marks on her wrists, there were no other physical injuries. 

However, judging from her mental state, she had likely ingested some hallucinogenic drug.

Since the hospital was too far from the Dragoncrest Villa, Jerome brought Mikayla to a hotel next to the hospital.

After getting a room, Jerome placed Mikayla on the bed.

He kissed her forehead gently. “Don’t worry. Everything is fine now. 

Mikayla felt the kiss on her forehead. She opened her eyes and looked up at Jerome.

Jerome had no choice but to nod in agreement. “Yes.” 

Seeing his apologetic look, Mikayla comforted him. “As long as you find out the truth, everything doesn’t matter anymore. I don’t blame you for keeping me here…” 

She reached out to touch his brow. “Now that the truth has come to light, can you like me now?” 

As her fingers touched his skin, Jerome’s heart fluttered: He nodded again and said softly, “Yes, I can.” 

Hearing this, Mikayla fell into his arms and burst into tears. “Finally. I’ve waited so long for you to like me. I’m so happy. Jerome, hold me. I can’t be dreaming, right?”
