Jerome held Mikayla tightly. She was crying in his arms non–stop. 

Jerome’s heart ached when he saw this fragile look of hers.. 

“Mikayla, since you still have feelings for me, why do you want a divorce?” Jerome couldn’t help but ask. 

“Divorce?” Mikayla lifted her head from his embrace again. 

Her eyes and nose were red from crying. Coupled with her flushed face, there was an indescribable feeling of brokenness coming from her. 

“I don’t want a divorce!” Her tears streamed down her face. 

She shook her head fervently. “Jerome, you know the truth now. Why do you still want a divorce?” 

Jerome was rendered speechless. She only heard the word “divorce“. 

Jerome recalled her resolute attitude and how excited she was when she received the divorce agreement in the office the other day. 

He cupped her face and punished her with a kiss. “You’re the one who suggested the divorce!” 

Mikayla couldn’t hear him. 

Instead, she covered her lips and said in disbelief, “Jerome, you… you kissed me! You willingly kissed me? You don’t hate me anymore?” 

“When did I ever say I hate you?” Jerome replied.

This would have never happened when she was sober. Previously, she had even slapped him whenever he kissed her, let alone initiating a kiss herself. 

She leaned in his arms. The touch of her lips were so vivid, and her scent filled his nose.

He held her tightly and asked, “Do you want to have more fun?” 

Mikayla’s face turned as red as an apple. Her eyes were shimmering. “Yes, I do!”
