“I prefer a quiet life. The housecleaners will come every two days.” Lucas untied his tie, saying, “I’ll go take a shower first. The cloakroom inside is empty, and you can place your things there.”
With that, he walked into the bedroom.
Hearing the sound of water running, Tiara heaved a sigh of relief.
She had to spend some time adapting to a new environment.
The three–story villa was stunningly spacious. The top floor might be a loft and was not very high.
The furniture mainly used cold colors, and the decorations were simple and neat, just like Lucas‘ style.
Carrying her bag in her hand, Tiara stepped into the cloakroom, once again amazed by its
size.

It was similar in size to a guest room. Most of the wardrobes were empty except the two filled with man’s clothing.
Tiara began to hang her clothes in a wardrobe one by one. Then, she took out a file bag, in which there were her certificates, including her ID card and diploma.
Seeing them, she thought of a new one she had just obtained yesterday.
Lucas had taken both copies of the marriage certificate away, and she didn’t know where he had placed them.
Tiara’s phone rang in her pocket. She took it out and found that it was a call from Darren.
In these two days, he had called her frequently, many more times than he did in the past two months in total.
Tiara picked up the phone, her voice calm. “Hello?”
“Tiara, where did you go?” Darren questioned at the end of the line.

Tiara sneered and said inwardly, “Does he think I’m still as obedient as before?”
“Mr. Fred, do you begin to care about my whereabouts now?” Tiarą mocked while putting her file bag into a drawer.
Her tone, maybe her form of address, annoyed Darren. “Tiara, mind your words.”
“I have always been nice to talk to. If you can’t accept my way of speaking, just go to someone else!”
She walked out of the cloakroom and happened to meet Lucas, who had just finished showering.
His hair was dripping, his waist wrapped in a white towel, and his upper body perfectly muscular. Seeing Tiara on the phone, he walked toward her silently, not saying a word.
As he approached, Tiara could feel her heartbeat quicken, and she subconsciously held her breath.

Darren was still chattering, “What do you mean? I have explained everything to you in the company. Are you meeting people from Newborn Perfume? Tiara, don’t be a fool. Don’t be deceived by their nonsense. They are just sowing discord between you and me!
“Think about the years we have spent together. We are so familiar with each other, and you should know well about me. Nothing has happened between Leticia and me. Hiss… You are just imagining something. Come to the company now if you have nothing to deal with.”
Although Darren hid it quickly, Tiara heard his slight “hiss” on the phone.
Leticia should be by his side and was dissatisfied with what he said.
Darren was indeed a thick–faced scum. He actually recalled the past with Tiara while being intimate with Leticia.

Darren got no reply and thought Tiara had hung up the phone.
Tiara widened her eyes as she watched the tall and strong Lucas lean down, his handsome face right in front of her eyes.
She didn’t dare to breathe, and then…
Just as his lips were about to touch hers, Lucas tilted his head and kissed her cheek. After that, he stood straight and went into the cloakroom.

Tiara’s phone dropped down and rolled on the carpet.
Thanks to the thick carpet, it wasn’t shattered into pieces.
Darren, however, was not that lucky. The loud noise almost deafened him, and he hurriedly put the phone away from his ear.

A grand wedding? Darren used it as an excuse to coax Tiara again.

Tiara hung up the phone and stood up. Lucas had changed his clothes and was going to sleep.
“I have to go out later.” Tiara didn’t hide anything. “The press conference will be held in the evening.”
With his ability, Lucas would get to receive the news sooner or later whether Tiara told him about that. So, being frank was the best choice.
“Don’t be in a hurry. It’s still early. You can rest for a while.”
