Lizetta’s voice trailed off as she too remembered the moment she saw that news article. In the photo, Quinn was bundled up in layers, his face hidden behind a bulky mask. 

For a second, she had wondered why someone would cover up so much at such an important and formal business event 

Then she thought maybe he had a cold and didn’t want to spread it around. Quinn was always known for being kind–hearted and generous, a real gentleman. 

But now, thinking back, could it have been that the person in the photo wasn’t Quinn at 

Lizetta looked up at Remington in shock. Remington’s handsome face was pale, his eyes showing an unmistakable pain that he 

couldn’t hide 

A heavy feeling settled in Lizetta’s heart. Deep down, she had known all along. 

Remington would never joke about his best friend’s life. Quinn was truly gone. 

“Was that person a stand-in?” she asked, her voice quivering, already knowing the answer. 

Remington nodded. “NovaTech Innovations has been the West family’s major focus for the post five years, the comerstone of the West family’s future. Quinn built it from the ground up. His passing at this time would have been devastating for the company. His dad had no choice but to resort to this” 

Lizetta gasped, “But hiding the death of the controlling owner, that could be considered a financial crime, couldn’t it?” 

Remington’s lips thinned. The West family needs to get through this tough time first. Hiding the death itself isn’t illegal, it’s only if we obtain a considerable illegal benefit and cause significant financial loss that it becomes a crime. We’ll see how things are handled moving forward.” 

Lizetta thought about the situation of the West family and felt deeply for them. 

The West family wasn’t like the other wealthy dynasties around Zion City. They had suffered a lot of losses. 

The Wests were a loving couple, with Quinn as their only son who had taken over the family business at a young age. 

Martin had stepped back from the limelight for years, and Quinn had been the pillar of the West family. His sudden death at such a young age, especially at a critical moment of the company’s transformation, was indeed a devastating blow to the West family.

What he didn’t say was that Quinn had been on his way to see him when the accident happened. 

If it hadn’t been for his call, Quinn wouldn’t have been driving tired in the middle of the right, wouldn’t have crashed, and wouldn’t have died so young. 

It was his call that had cost Quinn his life. 

But what he owed the West family was more than just Quinn’s life.
