Hubert snorted. “We had an agreement. Each of us has our responsibilities, and I’m supposed to handle things in the online world. You should stay away from these matters. I’ll take care of them. There’s no need for you to expose yourself. Got it?”
Pearl gazed out of the window with a hint of resignation. “Hubert, I’ve grown up now. I can protect myself. You all have your own lives. There’s no need to exert so much effort for
me.”
“That won’t do. It’s our duty to protect you. Each of us lends a hand, and together, we can create a safe haven for you.”
Hubert spoke as if it were a matter of course, “Don’t think that just because you’ve grown up, you can spread your wings and no longer care about us. You’re like a little sister to us, and you must listen to us and behave, understand?”
Pearl rubbed her head and let out a soft sigh, saying, “I better start looking for girlfriends for you all quickly. Once I get you all married off, you won’t be bothering me anymore.”
