Chapter 7
“How stupid. Fine, I’ll teach you. Look.”
When I heard Gordon’s familiar voice, I instinctively stood in place. Selena obviously heard him as well because she suddenly became worked up.
“Is Gordon together with that small–time celebrity again? Doesn’t he know he has a wife? How ridiculous!”
This had happened so many times in my previous life that I had lost count.
I would rush into the room to drag him out. Then, I would get humiliated by the women he had scandals with, and Gordon’s best friends would look down on me. I would even get chased out by security.
If a man didn’t like us, we would always be wrong, even if we kept quiet, made a scene, or cared about him.
I never understood that previously. Now, I felt nothing anymore.

At that moment, everyone in the room saw me, and I quickly heard Gordon’s cold voice coming from the
room.

I turned around, and my gaze went past the crowd and locked on Gordon, who was sitting in the center of the room.
The people in the room were dressed casually except for him. As usual, Gordon was in his dark–colored suit as he sat there fiercely with an imposing air around him.
I could feel how cold he was, even if I was standing far away.

I also saw the coy woman sitting next to him. She was Nora Flores, a small–time actress. Nora had been in a few TV series before, and she looked like she was Gordon’s type.
They had been close recently. However, she was just one of Gordon’s playtoys in our six years of
marriage.
His true sweetheart would be Sabrina.
Back then, I had wasted too much energy on these women and made myself miserable. In the end, I ignored Sabrina, who was the greatest threat.
“What’s wrong? Can I help you?”
I proudly walked toward Gordon. When he saw me, he frowned again and coldly said with a mocking smirk, “Who said you could drink, Taylor?”
“I did,” I nonchalantly answered.
“Look at what you’re wearing. You reek of alcohol. Have you forgotten you have a husband?”
A man who was publicly going out with the woman he had a scandal with was asking if I remembered I
had a husband.
I laughed at that moment. I didn’t know where I got the courage from, but I approached Gordon and placed my skinny arms on the couch behind his shoulders. Then, I got close to his face.
He was clearly surprised by my actions and unconsciously backed away. We stared into each other’s. eyes. We were so close that I could even see his pores.
I bravely exhaled in his face with my alcohol–filled breath. Then, I sneered and faintly said, “What about
you?
“You’re drinking here with a wild woman and letting the media expose what you’re doing. Do you remember you still have a wife?”

However, I was staring into his eyes without any fear at that moment.
It turned out that not caring was the best weapon. At that moment, I felt more at ease.
Gordon probably never expected I would be so daring and was instantly infuriated. He grabbed my collar and yelled coldly, “How dare you, Taylor?”
I was still smiling without a care. Then, I reached out and touched the hand he used to grab my collar. However, he flinched like he had touched something disgusting.
I casually adjusted my collar and stood up straight again. Then, I loudly said to him, “Gordon, you can have your fun, and I’ll have mine from now on. Let’s live in peace and not interfere with each other.”
I didn’t say that just for Gordon to hear. I also meant to say that to his best friends, who had always
looked down on me.

I might not have any specialty and couldn’t make Gordon love me. However, I would never let him trample on my dignity ever again.
After I finished speaking, I left the room immediately.
To be honest, the room had a strong smell. There was even that bitch’s perfume in the air, and I didn’t want to stay there a second longer.
“Gordon, she’s so arrogant! Why haven’t you gotten a divorce yet? Do you want to grow old with her?”
I didn’t seek trouble with Nora. However, she was something else for instigating Gordon to get a divorce
in front of me.
I scoffed and stopped walking. Before Gordon could say anything, I turned around and slapped Nora in
the face.
“Since your parents failed to educate you, I’ll help them do it.
“I understand a woman has to do her best in the entertainment industry. However, it’s immoral to seduce another woman’s husband in front of her!
“If you dare to tell my husband to divorce me, I’ll make sure you’ll receive your punishment!” I coldly said
to Nora.
Meanwhile, she clearly didn’t expect me to be so bold that day. After all, I had always been a coward in
front of everyone previously.
Nora held her face, which became red after I slapped her. She was so furious that she couldn’t form a
sentence.
In the end, she couldn’t help crying and tugging Gordon’s sleeve. “Look at her, Gordon! She really doesn’t care about your feelings at all!”
“Scram.”
Gordon had been staring at me the whole time. At that moment, the rage in his eyes had diminished. In its wake was a complicated look that no one could understand.
