Chapter 83
“You’ve changed completely! Now you look like a career woman!”
After we had hugged each other tightly, Yvonne looked me up and down. She couldn’t help praising me lavishly when she saw that I was wearing a trim business suit, which made me look very charismatic.
“Of course! Tay is now focusing on her career. She’s already rejected me a couple of times when I tried to ask her out,” Selena said, grinning as she slipped her arm through mine..
“You should focus on your career! It’s useless to focus completely on a man,” Yvonne said when she
heard Selena.
She looked immensely satisfied. She had been a career woman, to begin with, after all.
“Stop teasing me, you two! How have you both been? I feel like we haven’t met in ages,” I asked, laughing.
I was always especially happy to spend time with my best friends.
I tossed my bag on a chair.
“My bed and breakfast is about to start operating, and business with the flowers has been pretty good lately. Of course, thanks to you, I’ve met a couple of handsome men recently, too. After interacting with them, I don’t dislike them as much as before. To tell you the truth, Hector and Xales now seem much more tolerable.”
Selena laughed as she stretched out on the sofa.
Selena had always been a partier, so she got on well with Hector and Xales. They had the same interests, after all, so I wasn’t surprised.
“It’s the same old thing with me. I’m either in the operating theater or in the lab practicing dissection. Other people might find it tedious, but I enjo
- it. I love my job, and I’m not too bothered about whether or not I have men in my life,” Yvonne said, smiling as she shrugged.
Yvonne was a workaholic. She had wanted to be a doctor ever since childhood, so she had chosen to major in medicine when she was in university. Out of the three of us, she had the most ambition.
Although she loved her job, she lived a frugal life. She had been independent from a young age, and she had a large apartment that was about two thousand square feet in size. She had always lived a solitary
life.
Yvonne once had a boyfriend. She was very loyal in love, but her boyfriend had gone abroad two years ago and hadn’t been back since. Although neither of them had mentioned breaking up, their current situation was already that of two people who were.
Fortunately, she poured all her energy into her work, so she wasn’t too sad about it. At least, she had
never expressed it to us.
“I recently started a drama, and we’re currently in the casting process. We’re going to start shooting very
soon.”

I shared my news with them, too, and both of them got excited at once.
“You’re going to develop a drama? Is that true, Tay? That’s amazing! Is Radglo Corporation now thinking of getting into film and television?” Selena teased me.
“Yes, we want to test the waters. Radglo Corporation is trying to transition right now, so this is also a good opportunity for me,” I said truthfully.
“Well, no matter what you do, we’ll support you as long as you don’t get swept off your feet by love again. By the way, how are things between you and Gordon? Has he been mean to you?” Yvonne asked, crossing
her arms.
*Things are just like that. They’re neither good nor bad. However, I don’t really care anymore. You know that our marriage was merely for business, so we can’t just get divorced. I’ll leave it hanging for now.
“By the way, Selena, Holmes Group needs a supplier that can supply flowers long–term, recommended you to them. Did they contact you?” I quickly asked Selena.
Selena immediately put down her knife and fork.

She shook her head and said, “I was planning to ask you about that too. The purchasing department of Holmes Group contacted me, and things were pretty much settled, but they suddenly informed me that they’d found a more suitable supplier.
“They said that we could work together in the future when the opportunity arises. Why is Gordon like that? I’m your bestie, after all. Shouldn’t he look after my business too?”
Selena sighed heavily.
