My guard was immediately up, and I asked deliberately, “When did they tell you that they’d found another supplier?”
“They contacted me a few days ago. I had already prepared the flowers for them, and I was planning to deliver them after we signed the contract. I don’t know what happened over there, but they suddenly notified me to say that we wouldn’t be working together anymore,” Selena muttered in irritation.
Then, she couldn’t help but abuse Gordon once more..
Selena and Yvonne had already been angry at Gordon for how coldly he treated me over the past few years. That was their reason for always insulting him in my presence. I was used to it.
“When we’ve had dinner, I’ll ask Gordon what happened. Don’t worry,” I said, lowering my voice.
I had recommended Selena because I did not want Sabrina to use the flower delivery as an excuse to meet Gordon every day. That was why I had to prevent this from happening.
After I finished eating with Selena and Yvonne, I asked for a takeout box of pumpkin purée and foie grast from Whispers on the Wind. Then, I headed straight for the Holmes Group building.
I knew what Gordon liked. The pumpkin purée and foie gras were his favorite foods from the restaurant.
He was a regular there, too, and the reason that I used to go so often with my best friends was because. I’d hoped to encounter him more often.
It was about four in the afternoon when I arrived at Holmes Group.
I got in the elevator and headed straight to the floor where Gordon’s office was. Coincidentally, his assistant, Landon, appeared at the elevator doors.
The moment Landon saw me, he looked as afraid of me as always.
“Mrs. Holmes, Mr. Holmes is… He’s in a meeting.”
I might have left Landon with a bad impression because of all the tantrums I used to throw in the past. That was why whenever he saw me, he would say that Gordon wasn’t available out of habit.
I laughed and handed him a hazelnut latte.
“Landon, I remembered that you particularly like the hazelnut latte from Whispers on the Wind, so l brought one especially for you. Mr. Holmes is in his office, right? Don’t worry. I’m not here to make trouble. I’m here to bring him food.”
