We reached the Holmes Group building shortly after. On the way, Selena kept texting me updates as she told me about how things were progressing.
She was a fast worker. This had been a very last–minute job, and it was for the welcoming of VIPS, which meant higher requirements for the floral arrangements.
Selena wanted to make me proud, so she had made up her mind and brought all the special white magnolias she had just managed to nurture. They couldn’t find a truck driver at such short notice, so she got in a truck with her team and drove them personally to Holmes Group.
With the help of the staff at Holmes Group, they had swiftly begun to decorate the venue, all the way from the entrance of the building to the VIP conference room. She had added fresh flowers as embellishments along the way and asked her florist to create two luxurious, elegant floral arrangements for the conference room. One was placed in the center of the room, while the other was placed on the stage.
When we led the VIPS from Aribia into the Holmes Group building, we were greeted at once by a sophisticated floral scent.
The flowers arranged on either side of the red carpet were very intricate, and even the color
scheme was refined. It looked luxurious and beautiful.
Gordon and I each played our respective parts. He accompanied the main VIP who had come to visit while I looked after their female companions. We talked as we walked along the red carpet until we reached the conference room. They began talking about business while I led the female companions to the lounge, which had been specially prepared for them to rest.

I did not care what kind of business Gordon discussed with the VIPs.

energy.
“Darling, you’ve worked so hard today!”
I flew over to her and gave her a bear hug.
“What do you think? Are you happy with the decorations? I didn’t embarrass you, did I?”
Selena hugged me back and grinned.
“Of course I’m happy! It was luxurious and elegant, and the embellishments were just right. The most important thing was that you did it at such short notice! As expected of my bestie! “I praised her.
“Yeah! I brought every precious flower I had here for this event! I’ve nurtured those for a very long time. I wouldn’t have been able to bear parting with them if it weren’t for you,” Selena said, smiling.
“I know, I know. I’ll tell Gordon later and have him pay you more. If it hadn’t been for you, who knows what he would have done.”
“By the way, you two looked like a real team out there. Tay, are things between the two of you getting better? I feel like you’re much closer than before.”
Selena slung an arm around my shoulders and pinched my cheek, grinning.
“At least we’re not arguing anymore. There’s nothing much to fight about. I used to care too much about him, so I kept annoying him. Now that I don’t do that anymore, things are better,” I said lightly, shrugging.
“Well, it seems like things are heating up. It’s a pity. I was waiting for you to be divorced so we could travel the world together.”
Selena had never approved of Gordon and me. She would like nothing better than for us to quickly break up, as she didn’t think he was a good match for me.
“Soon. I’ll break up with him sooner or later,” I said, smiling.
“Do you think he’ll gradually realize how amazing you are? His attitude seems to have changed drastically,” Selena murmured as she took my arm.
From the way he had looked at me all day today and how approving he had been when he saw the decorated venue upon returning to Holmes Group, I thought he was perhaps discovering my value.
